As at all previous BME editions we have also this year several awards. There will be awards for the Best Poster, the Frans van der Helm (before the Henk Stassen Award) and the IEEE-EMBS Best Paper Award

This year the posters will be judged a selected committee. The best 3 will be invited to give a 1-minute pitch on Friday, January 31 at 3:30 PM. The prize for the best poster is € 300,-

Frans van der Helm, professor of Biomechatronics and Biorobotics at TU Delft, was one of the founders of the Dutch Biomedical Engineering Congress and was its chairman until 2019. Thanks to him, the congress has become what it is today: the most important platform for biomedical engineering research in the Netherlands. He has particularly worked hard to increase the visibility of young researchers in the field: there is no comparable congress where there is always room for almost 100 oral presentations by young BME researchers. All the more reason to honor Frans by naming the prize for young researchers of the BME congress after him.

The prize consists of € 1000,-
